The Azets Barometer provides a clear view of the current business environment, based on the perspectives of senior leaders across the markets we serve. Drawing on primary research with over 1,400 business leaders across the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics, it tracks current sentiment around economic outlook, financial performance, and the challenges and opportunities shaping business decisions today.

This quarter, two themes stand out for Danish business leaders: the search for the right skills, and a cyber threat that has moved to the top of the agenda.

Denmark in focus

45% of Danish leaders point to a lack of the right skills as the biggest obstacle to productivity, and 79% are concerned about retaining employees – for 46%, driven specifically by the risk of losing staff to better offers elsewhere.

Cyber security is just as pressing, cited by 79% of Danish leaders. Across all markets, cyber attacks have overtaken geopolitical uncertainty as business leaders' biggest concern for the first time since 2023.

Despite these pressures, confidence and financial performance in Denmark are at record highs – a sign that leaders are adapting, not standing still.

Key findings from Q3 2026:

94% of leaders rate their financial performance above average
90% are optimistic about the overall economic outlook over the next 12 months
81% expect their use of automation and AI tools to increase
55% have upskilled staff in the last 12 months in response to AI adoption
54% say that technology and systems infrastructure would make the biggest difference to their organisation's ability to adapt quickly
80% have altered how they plan, make decisions and operate to allow for ongoing expected change
