Many employers currently have white-collar employee insurance schemes through Fora. This primarily applies to TFA (Occupational Injury Insurance), which may provide compensation in the event of a work-related injury, and TRR Transition Insurance, which funds support for white-collar employees during organisational change and redundancy situations. For employers covered by these insurance schemes, the total payroll for white-collar employees is currently reported to Fora once a year. The reporting relates to the previous calendar year and takes place in January.
Since Fora introduced monthly reporting for blue-collar employees, work has also been underway to introduce a corresponding reporting process for white-collar employees. The ambition is for salaries to be reported monthly in the future instead of only once a year. However, the introduction of monthly reporting for white-collar employees has been delayed due to ongoing negotiations between PTK, LO and the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv).
Right now, there are few details available regarding the change. Fora had previously indicated that monthly reporting for white-collar employees was planned to be introduced from 2027, but there is still very limited information about how the new reporting process will work in practice. For example, it is not yet known what detailed reporting requirements will be introduced or how much advance notice employers and payroll providers will receive to prepare for the changes.
What is already known is that the reporting of white-collar employees’ payroll totals for 2026, which must be submitted to Fora in January 2027, will be carried out according to the current procedures. For organisations that already have this reporting managed by Azets, this means that nothing will change for the upcoming reporting cycle.
Although information from Fora remains limited, we are closely monitoring developments. We are following upcoming announcements, assessing how the changes may affect employers, and will provide further information as soon as it becomes available.
With Azets as your payroll partner, you can be confident that we keep track of changes to regulations and reporting requirements and help you stay prepared when new requirements are introduced. If you have any questions or would like further guidance, you are always welcome to contact us.
