About us

The role

We are currently looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join the Continuous Improvement team. The Continuous Improvement team is responsible for delivering enterprise wide programmes and projects with support from our IT solutions team to help make solutions a reality. The Portfolio of work is very broad and includes process improvement, elements of transformation, as well as technology implementations. A short number of key responsibilities outlines below (this list is not exclusive):

 

Key accountabilities

  • Assist in the development and documentation of business processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practice, regulatory standards, and operational objectives.
  • Support the identification of opportunities for process improvement, with a view to enhancing efficiency, reducing risk, and controlling costs.
  • Work alongside business stakeholders to help define and maintain operational plans that contribute to the delivery of strategic goals, encompassing people, processes, systems, and tools.
  • Engage with colleagues and delivery partners to gather and document business requirements, translating these into clear, structured formats to support technical implementation where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the documentation and testing of workflows, specifications, and system functionality to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of user guidance materials and support documentation to facilitate smooth adoption of new systems and processes.

This role is responsible for introducing and managing business change by identifying and defining the business needs, help identify solutions, problems and risks to delivering the change successfully on a broad range of programmes and projects.

The main focus for this candidate will be on process change and improvements within business operations with a lean towards potential automation across our technology stake so technical skills would be advantageous but not required.

Reporting to the Lead Business Analyst, the candidate will work collaboratively with other members of the Continuous improvement team and the business to support the delivery of change.

The ideal candidate will;

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across varying levels of the organisation.
  • Possesses confident communication and influencing abilities, with a capacity to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Displays an understanding of a broad range of technical concepts, ideally with some exposure to the accountancy, banking, or financial services sectors.
  • Applies well-developed analytical skills to assess business functions and assist in translating these into system or application requirements.
  • Capable of supporting the preparation of business cases, including basic cost and resource estimates, under guidance.
  • Understands the complexity of business environments and the interdependencies between projects and functions.
  • Demonstrates adaptability in learning and applying new technologies in response to evolving business needs.
  • Communicates effectively in both written and verbal forms, producing clear documentation suitable for varied audiences.
  • Able to assist in the identification and resolution of issues arising within project deliverables or business processes.
  • Holds a foundational understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Exposure to or interest in process automation is advantageous, though not essential.
  • Displays a logical and solution-focused approach, with a mindset aligned to the principles of technical business analysis.
