As a highly experienced accountant and tax specialist, Robert heads up the corporate and business tax team for the eastern region of Azets.
Robert and his team deal with clients of all sizes; locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. They range from self-employed consultants and owner-managed SMEs, to large UK groups and the subsidiaries of large multi-national corporations; the latter needing particular attention given developments in the tax rules in recent years. Many of Robert's clients are growing businesses and the team helps them not only with day-to-day taxation compliance, but also with issues relating to business disposals, acquisitions, re-organisations and succession planning.
Robert is involved with a broad range of industry sectors, which include technology, construction, property development, leisure & tourism, professional practices, shipping, agriculture and charities. Robert also has a particular niche in tax planning for land development projects.
An excellent communicator with a lucid presentation style, Robert is constantly in demand as a speaker and also writes authoritative articles for local media. He sits on the Chartered Institute of Taxation’s Owner Managed Business sub-committee, and when he studied, was winner of the CIOT's Institute medal for the ‘Best overall performance across all papers’.
