Alextra Accountants joins Azets Group

Azets strengthens its presence in the North West, adding 70 colleagues and three offices to its UK&I business

Azets is pleased to announce that Alextra, one of the North West’s fastest-growing and most respected accountancy and business advisory firms, has joined the Azets Group, boosting Azets’ presence in the region and marking an exciting new chapter for both firms, their clients, and their people.

All staff from Alextra’s three offices will join Azets following the deal, with the exception of Alextra’s Wealth Management team, which remains as a separate independent business, rebranded to Hexagon Wealth Management.

Alextra, which operates across Newcastle-under-Lyme (Stoke-on-Trent), Crewe and Warrington and supports clients across the North West and England and Wales, has built a strong reputation through consistent organic growth and long-standing relationships with SME clients.

The acquisition represents an expansion into the corridor between Birmingham and Manchester for Azets, which has 4,000 people working across more than 70 offices in the UK, and strengthens its presence in the North West region alongside continued investment, growth and recruitment in the area. .

Peter Gallanagh, UK&I CEO at Azets, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Alextra to Azets. They’re a high-performing, well-respected practice with a hugely talented team, and have a history of providing excellent support to SMEs both locally and across the country.

“Alextra will be the bridge between the Midlands and North West for Azets and the team there share our approach to supporting and developing our people, our belief in first-rate client service, and our ambition to grow and evolve as a business.”

Mathew Weaver, continuing to lead the business locally as Office Managing Partner at Azets, said: “We’re delighted to join Azets. Becoming part of the Group will help us with our plans to scale and grow, and we’ll benefit from access to broader infrastructure, capability and support, while maintaining our client-focused approach and local presence.

“It’s a very exciting move which will enable us to deliver better value to our clients, work smarter, grow faster, and provide greater opportunities for our team.”
